Coconut improvement in the South Pacific

These proceedings arose from a workshop held in conjunction with the final review of the ACIAR coconut improvement project. They contain reports on the general situation of the coconut industries in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji and Tonga. They also include a comprehensive examination of the problem of viroid-like DNA sequences in coconut, and associated quarantine issues that impinge on the movement of coconut germplasm around the South Pacific Region.
