Summary

Tropical spiny lobsters, and particularly the ornate lobster Panulirus ornatus, are a valuable resource for most countries bordering the South China Sea. The papers in this Proceedings were presented at a workshop in Vietnam in July 2004. This workshop brought together oceanographers, lobster biologists and lobster aquaculture researchers with an interest in the sustainability of the South China Sea spiny lobster stocks.
