Classical swine fever and emerging diseases in southeast Asia

The drive in Southeast Asia to satisfy the increasing demand for animal protein has resulted in many changes to common agricultural practices. The intensification of pig production industries, combined with urbanisation, global changes and the increasing ease of travel and transport, has produced environments that may lead to an increase in the impact of formerly uncommon diseases and even the emergence of new diseases.
