The biology and mariculture of giant clams

These proceedings are the result of research undertaken at giant clam hatcheries throughout the Pacific. Many of the papers presented at a small symposium held in conjunction with the seventh international coral reef symposium at Guam in June 1992. Topics covered include genetics, biology, growth and reproduction, methodologies for hatchery and nursery operations, quarantine protection to prevent the spread of parasitic diseases and socioeconomic studies.
