Summary

This book summarises the results of a collaborative project between Chinese and Australian scientists to improve agricultural water use efficiency and thereby increase agricultural productivity and sustainability in the North China Plain and the Loess Plateau in China and the Murray Darling Basin in Australia. The results of the project will help to refine agricultural practices in these regions. Specifically, on the North China Plain, plot-scale research has shown how water can be used more efficiently while, at the regional scale, a method has been developed to monitor such improvements.
