The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) works to help developing countries increase crop productivity and food security for poverty reduction. Australia, as a donor partner contributes AUD500,000 (in 2005-06) in direct support, along with funding for specific project activities. ICRISAT’s work focuses on farming systems, specifically for crops suitable to the semi-arid tropics, as well as working to conserve these crops. ICRISAT produce regular publications that give an indication of their current activities and future plans. These include an Annual Report which looks that their activities over the calendar year, and a Medium-Term Plan that details their organisational direction.
