The specialist disciplinary expertise, deep experience and extensive networks of ACIAR Research Program Managers and support staff are critical to our effectiveness and standing as a world-leading facilitator and funder of agricultural research for development. Our 12 research programs are managed in four clusters:

Livestock & fisheries

Natural Resource Management

Economics & Social Sciences

Multilateral programs

We recognise the growing challenges (and opportunities) for poor rural producers flowing from climate change and from increasingly globalised agri-food chains, including pressures on environmental and livelihood sustainability, women’s access to resources and unlocking the potential of the private sector. Multidisciplinary approaches linking these research clusters will be a feature of much of ACIAR’s work over the next decade.
