Temporary Employment Register
The Centre has a Temporary Employment Register for self motivated personal assistants and administrative staff.
Temporary contracts may be offered for a period of one week to six months and salary rates will vary for individual assignments. Vacancies are expected to be at the Administrative Public Service levels 2-6.
Applicants at the APS2 level are required to answer and direct incoming telephone enquiries to appropriate areas within the Centre and perform general Reception duties, process in coming and out going mail and perform a broad range of administrative support tasks to the Executive and other programs, including word processing duties.
Applicants at the APS4 level are required to provide executive assistance to management, or administrative assistance to a Research Program Manager. Duties may include handling correspondence, project administration and payments, monitoring project expenditure against budget, organising meetings, travel arrangements and acquittals and maintaining a computer-based information system.
Applicants at the APS5 and APS6 levels are expected and required to provide high level administrative assistance to management within a range of disciplines including:
- Human Resources, recruitment and personnel
- Finance and budgets
- Contracts and legal
- Secretariat services
- Specialist services (including IT and information management); and
- Other high level administrative functions.
Registration will remain current for 12 months.
