WorldFish Center
The WorldFish Center (formerly known as ICLARM) contributes to food security and poverty eradication in developing countries through research on fisheries and other living aquatic resources. Australia contributes AUD500,000 (in 2005-06) in direct funding, combined with the funding of specific projects. The Center focuses on achieving sustainable resource management, the protection of aquatic environments and biodiversity and the strengthening of developing country capacities in these areas. The WorldFish Center produce regular publications that give an indication of their current activities and future plans. These include an Annual Report which looks that their activities over the calendar year 2006, and a Medium-Term Plan that details their organisational direction for 2008-2010. It also includes an External Program and Management Review which is done by the CG Science Council.
