ACIAR has supported a small program of collaborative agricultural research with the Republic South Africa (RSA) since 1999. Most of the program consists of bilateral projects, in which an Australian research organisation is commissioned to undertake a specified research activity in collaboration with a partner organisation in RSA. South Africa is also targeted in ACIAR's multilateral program delivered in conjunction with the international agricultural research centres.
