Dr Caroline Lemerle

Dr Caroline Lemerle is Research Program Manager responsible for Agricultural Systems Management. The Program commissions integrative economic, social and biophysical research within a systems context.
Dr Lemerle has a BSc (Hons) from the University of London, two Masters degrees in Science (James Cook University) and Environmental Law (ANU), and a PhD in livestock nutrition from the University of Melbourne. In addition, Dr Lemerle has a Graduate Certificate in Management from the University of Western Sydney and is a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors program. From 2004, Dr Lemerle was General Manager of the National Rural Issues Portfolio (and before that the Sustainable Systems Program) at the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation. Prior to that she worked for a number of years in senior management positions within the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and NSW Agriculture.
In the 1980's Dr Lemerle worked as a research scientist with the forerunner to the Victorian Department of Primary Industries, and in the late 1970's worked in Papua New Guinea in agricultural research, extension and teaching.
